Fun Times
This is just a post of random fun pictures we have taken lately.
So, Ethan recently received part 1 of his hair cut. I’m trying to get him ready for one year portraits, but I am not a professional barber. I’ve learned that it works better to do hair cuts in phases. It’s difficult for him to sit still for very long anyway.
We caught him the other day exploring the pantry. He was more than just exploring… he decided to “ride” a large bottle of olive oil while chewing on dry pasta. Yeah, cute is an understatement.
His new fun thing to occupy his time is reading. He loves his books. If you know me, then you know how obsessed I am about children’s books and how happy it makes me that Ethan has taken such a strong interest in them. It’s precious to watch him. He turns every single page. His favorite books right now are animal picture books and he seems to have taken great interest in tigers. So cute!
I bought Ethan pajamas yesterday. I thought the striped pants were too cute to pass up. He hasn’t had real pajamas since he was itty bitty. I love pajamas, and now see that I am apparently living vicariously through Ethan. Well, there are worse things in life. And he looks super adorable. I will probably go back for another pair.
Playing Catch-Up
We have heard your cries and apologize for the lull in posting. I will try to finish catching up on summer photos in time to post about Ethan’s upcoming First Birthday. I cannot believe I am planning his one year old birthday party. I’m definitely that mom that gets weepy thinking about her baby growing up so fast. I’ve decided infancy happens too quickly to be truly enjoyed. Our goal is to treasure every moment and take lots of pictures. We have had a good summer so far. Nguyen has started school and is very busy with studying. Ethan and I have been enjoying morning walks, reading books and playing in the pool. We are blessed and thankful for this journey God is taking us on.
Pool Time
For Nguyen’s day off we decided to have a family pool day. By “day” I really mean about an hour, but for an 11 month old it might as well have been all day. Ethan is funny about the water. He’s only interested for a few short minutes and then just wants to play in the grass. Apparently, it’s much more exciting than all those pool toys.
Gadget King
Ethan’s favorite things have buttons and lights and are usually the exact things we tell him he cannot have. It’s like he has a sixth sense about electronics. He can tell when we take the batteries out of something. But it is pretty cute to watch him hold the phone over his shoulder like he’s talking to someone. Ahh, that’s my boy.
Picnic At The Park
It was a beautiful day and we felt the need for a picnic. Ethan enjoyed crawling around in the grass and trying to chase the birds. He also had a lot to say about his new favorite fruit.

Louisiana Vacation Part 3
On our way to visit friends in South LA, we stopped by the newly opened Gone Wild Safari park in Pineville, LA. It was great and we had a blast. Jerry the Giraffe was awesome, and to be honest, was the inspiration for Ethan’s birthday party theme. Ethan was much more engaged this go around and really seemed to enjoy himself.
We also had a day to spend with our good friends, the Garbarinos. Ethan and Lily got to meet each other and we had a great time visiting.
Louisiana Vacation Part 2
Next on our list of fun things to do in Shreveport was to visit some animals… Gators and Friends to be more specific. Ethan was not very enthusiastic about the heat, but he did show some interest in the animals.
Louisiana Vacation Part 1
We had a blast visiting Andrei for his 30th birthday party in Shreveport. While we were there we decided to try to find fun things to do with Ethan. The water fountains at the Barnwell Garden and Art Center seemed like a good choice. Nguyen and I enjoyed touring the park while Ethan slept. Then we enjoyed watching the fountains while Ethan slept. Then when we got to the car, Ethan awoke. Determined not to miss out on the fun experience, we put him back in the stroller and played in the fountains. He was curious about the water, but more curious about his daddy’s camera. Ahh, my technology minded family. I can’t help but love it!
My First Spaghetti
Ethan has been rather particular about the texture of the food he likes to eat. So, I was surprised and super pleased when he had so much fun eating spaghetti for the first time. Spaghetti happens to be my favorite childhood meal, so his pleasure in eating this meal was near and dear to my heart. I think I might have made the same size mess as a child, too! I’m not sure you could find a happier baby than this one!
