Vacation In The Wilderness
Nguyen and I are spending our weekend in the foothills of Missouri at a resort in the woods called Big Cedar. It’s very beautiful! I am currently sitting in front of a roaring fireplace looking out over the lake and the hills and the smoke rising from all the chimneys in the woods. Because of the arrival of the first Biggs family grandchild, my parents gave us their lodge and thus allowing Nguyen and I to have our first vacation since our honeymoon. This has been a much needed break for the both of us and we our very grateful for Mom and Dad’s generosity! Our days have consisted of sleeping late, taking long walks along the wilderness trails and catching up on some photo taking. Here’s a little peak of what we have been enjoying!

wow! so happy for you guys! you totally deserve this…could this be the last vacation without kids???
Thanks! Although we’re not really doing typical “Branson” things, we’re having a lot of fun and it’s really relaxing.
Emily and I both realized, as we were on our way up here, that this will likely be our last spur-of-the-moment vacation. Coming from a guy who used to ALWAYS take random quick trips, it’s rather monumental. But I guess we’re in for just different life events and we’re excited for those.
We’ll be home tomorrow and will post more then.
So glad you enjoyed you time in the “wilderness”!!!
first off, I think you have 7 more impromptu trips before Little Nguyen enters the world…. (okay that might be a bit much, but still, don’t count one or two out just yet…:)
Secondly, what’s Nguyen eating in pic number one? My guess is Pizza…
Thirdly, these pictures are AMAZING. Truly nice gift from your P’s Emily! Very nice photographs indeed!
Fourthly, I’m very perplexed at who actually took the last picture?
That’s it love ya’ll.

1, we’re all for the impromptu trips so it’s possible.
2, Hint: if you pause (aka “hover”) your mouse over the pictures, you’ll get little pop-up messages.
3, I actually didn’t bring my camera so all of these were taken with emily’s little point-and-shoot. She took most of those photos.
4, ms. rock took photo #3 and mr. road took the last one.
Could this maybe beat your tent camping. I know how you like the cold weather and outdoors.I didn’t see any pictures of snow or wild animals or dangerous adventures or running in the woods or building a fire or cooking or watching TV,playing wee;Woooo it must have been rough, but maybe not. It looks like you still had lots of fun.Just wait until your next wilderness trip. It will be the 3 of you having a real adventure.
