NguyenAndEmily Just Went Organic
So yeah I thought it would be fun to announce that NguyenAndEmily.com just officially got it’s first organic hit from a Google search… woohoo!
Although we’re not really intending for this site to perform in organic searches, I found it interesting so I thought I’d share. The part that stood out to me was the search term. Apparently one visitor searched for “naomi constantinescu” and landed on this site when it showed up on page #1 position #4. On that search N&E currently fluctuates between 3-5.
Maybe I’m the only one that finds that interesting. As a lot of you know, SEO/SEM is one of my interests.
Let’s Get Real
OK, so realistically I will never “finish” this site so let’s get the show on the road. We’ll begin posting “real” stuff soon… maybe a week… maybe sooner.
In the mean time, I’ll be working on my blog theme version 2. Yah, v1 hasn’t even lasted the official launch yet but I want something more custom and cleaner. I’m crazy like that.

The area to the top of the homepage is reserved for featured content. Up to 5 posts will be stickied to that section and will be left there as a way to highlight certain announcements and news. You can tab through them by clicking on the corresponding link numbers located toward the bottom right of the image banner.

We Shall Call It…
...the “Friends & Family Corner”. I would like to draw your attention to the lower corner of the right sidebar on all pages. Along with the Links page, that little area will act as the quicklink to friends and family websites and blogs. Please feel free to browse at your leisure.

Now I’m just testing a large photo links within a post. You can click on the photo link to show the full resolution image. Most of the photo popups are designed to [almost] fill out your browser window. Maximizing your browser window will ensure that you see the largest and clearest photos uploaded. If you’re having problems seeing the shadow effect, please make sure the page is fully loaded before viewing.

For the next while, this site will be under construction. Please pay no attention but just know that it should be soon that the site will be finished. As to when I’ll post something interesting? I don’t know about all that… no guarantees.
As many of you may know, Emily and I used to have our own blog at this exact url. That was 3 years ago. Blogging and micro-blogging in general has continued to scream with popularity but the hustle and bustle of life, moving, changing jobs, etc kept us from keeping our little slice of the internet alive. Well we’re going to attempt a revival here.
